Lock-in Period of Recently Listed Hydropower Companies in NEPSE
After an Initial Public Offering (IPO), a lock-in period is a stipulated duration during which certain shareholders, typically company insiders and promoters, are restricted from selling their shares in the public market. This measure is intended to stabilize the stock price and demonstrate the stakeholders’ commitment to the company’s long-term success. The lock-in period helps prevent sudden mass sell-offs that could adversely impact the stock’s value shortly after the IPO.
Once the lock-in period expires, these shareholders are free to sell their shares on the share market, potentially affecting the stock’s supply and demand dynamics. In Nepal, there is a lock-in period of 3 years on companies from sectors like hydropower, investment, manufacturing & processing, and hotels following the allotment of IPOs to the general public.
In this post, we have updated the list of lock-in period and its end date of recently listed hydropower companies in Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). For example; SAHAS lock-in period ends at 3 Oct, 2024 & NYADI lock-in period ends at 22 Oct, 2024 and MBJC lock-in period ends at 29 Oct, 2024. Also, lock-in period of RURU ends at 16 April, 2024 this year.
