Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has released the notice with updated list of 112 companies which are eligible for margin trading in Nepal on 25 Feb, 2024. It includes the list of eligible companies that have met the criteria as per Section 8 of Chapter 3 of 2075, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited Margin Transaction Facility.
Margin trading is a method of buying stocks using borrowed money, allowing investors to leverage their investments. It involves borrowing funds to increase the size of a investment potentially amplifying both gains and losses. This means investors have the option to use borrowed funds to trade shares of 112 companies listed in NEPSE, potentially increasing their market exposure.
Some of the companies eligible for margin trading purpose in NEPSE are Nabil Bank, Nepal Bank, Jeevan Bikas Laghubitta, Sana Kisan Bikas Laghubitta, Chilime Hydropower Company, Nepal Doorsanchar Company and Nepal Re-lnsurance Company.
